2019 Festival Judge

The Festival is please to announce our 2019 Judge Rebecca Trawick. She is the Director/Curator at the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art, a teaching museum located on the campus of Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga (San Bernardino County) where she has curated and facilitated exhibitions and public programming since 2002.

Areas of special interest include the intersections of art and social justice issues. Exhibitions include Faster, Faster! The Art of Motorcycle Culture, Oaxacalifornia: PavĂ©l Acevedo, Inside/Outside: Prison Narratives, Carte de California: Contested Terrain, When I’m Sixty-Four, Food for Thought: A Question of Consumption, Separation Anxiety, Tall Stories, among others.

In addition to the exhibitions Trawick’s developed at the Wignall Museum, she has guest curated exhibitions at the Pelham Art Center, Pelham, NY; MOAH: Museum of Art & History, Lancaster, CA; and W. Keith & Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery, Cal-Poly Pomona, Pomona, CA. From 2012-2015 Trawick served as a Founding Board Member and Secretary for Arts Connection: The Arts Council of San Bernardino County and she continues to be an active member of the organization.

Trawick serves her community as juror, moderator and panelist on programs throughout the region. In 2014, she presented on a panel titled Motherhood and the Exhibitionary Platform: Considering the Implications of Maternity through the Curatorial Lens, organized by Jessica Cochran (Columbia College Chicago) as part of the Feminist Art Project panels scheduled in concert with the CAA Conference in Chicago, IL.

Trawick studied at MCAD, Minneapolis, MN and received her BA in Studio Arts and American Indian Studies from the University of MN-Twin Cities.
